In Saudi, instead of Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, Friday and Saturday are. Thus the Friday morning market in Qatif is a popular activity for those starting their weekend. Food, antiques, Qurans, birds, and flip-flops, if can name it you can find it at the early morning market. I bought an old Iraqi dinar with Saddam Hussein on it; a traditional palm leaf flag; and Saudi newspapers from 2002. These women were selling some sort of breakfast or snack food.
