My name is Meryl — I am a documentary photographer out of the East Bay Area, California. I travel the globe shining light on the beauty of humanity and the wide range of what it is to be human. All of my photos on merylisola.com were taken in 40 countries spanning 6 continents. As you can probably tell if you’ve skimmed through my website, I have a deep love for India. Take a look at my nonprofit page for info on my women’s empowerment work in south India. Some other countries I love are Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Ghana, and Taiwan.

I graduated in June 2022 from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver with a master’s degree in International Human Rights. Some human rights issues I focused on in my master’s were forced labor & human trafficking, female genital mutilation, genocide, and torture. I received my bachelor’s in anthropology with a minor in business innovation from the University of Colorado — Boulder in 2017.
