Tong Ah Eating House in Chinatown, Singapore is famous for the national breakfast of Singapore: Kaya Toast. This dish consists of two slices of toast with butter and kaya (sweet coconut spread) in-between, accompanied by soft-boiled eggs and either tea or coffee. Simple, sweet & savory, and quite orgasmic. I snapped this photo of a man working on a renovation of the upper level of an old shophouse next to Tong Ah. The breeze must have felt nice on that 90°F humid summer day.
